การแปลอุปลักษณ์เชิงมโนทัศน์ประเภทอุปลักษณ์เชิงรูปธรรมในสารคดีเรื่อง Into the Wild และฉบับแปลภาษาไทย เรื่อง เข้าป่าหาชีวิต

บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการแปลอุปลักษณ์เชิงมโนทัศน์ประเภทอุปลักษณ์เชิงรูปธรรมในสารคดี จากภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาไทย โดยใช้การศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพ คือ การศึกษาเอกสารจากสารคดีเรื่อง Into the Wild ของ จอน แครคาวเออร์ (2011) และฉบับแปลภาษาไทย เรื่อง เข้าป่าหาชีวิต โดย ธิดารัตน์ เจริญชัยชนะ (2559) หนังสือมีเนื้อหาที่น่าสนใจมีเรื่องราวที่เกี่ยวข้องกับมนุษย์แสดงให้เห็นถึงความแตกต่างทางด้านภาษา สังคมและวัฒนธรรม ผลการศึกษาพบอุปลักษณ์เชิงมโนทัศน์จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 634 อุปลักษณ์ แบ่งออกเป็นอุปลักษณ์เชิงรูปธรรม จำนวน 490 อุปลักษณ์ อุปลักษณ์เชิงโครงสร้าง จำนวน 106 อุปลักษณ์ และอุปลักษณ์เชิงทิศทางและการเคลื่อนที่ จำนวน 38 อุปลักษณ์ ตามลำดับ ในการแปลอุปลักษณ์เชิงรูปธรรม ผู้แปลใช้กลวิธีการแปลทั้งหมด 6 กลวิธี กลวิธีการแปลที่พบมากที่สุด คือ กลวิธีการแปลแบบตีความหรืออธิบายความในภาษาปลายทางซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นว่าในการแปลอุปลักษณ์เชิงรูปธรรม จำเป็นต้องอาศัยการตีความหรือเพิ่มคำอธิบายของผู้แปลมากกว่ากลวิธีอื่น ๆ ผลการศึกษานี้จึงนับเป็นแนวทางอันเป็นประโยชน์โดยตรงต่อนักแปลในการแปลอุปลักษณ์เชิงรูปธรรมในวรรณกรรมประเภทสารคดีจากภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาไทยหรือนำไปประยุกต์ใช้งานแปลประเภทอื่น ๆ และการเรียนการสอนเกี่ยวกับการแปล
