Abstract

This academic article aims to study the promotion of knowledge and skills in elderly healthcare in foreign countries and Thailand, including Sri Sunthorn Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket Province, in order to develop guidelines for promoting knowledge and skills in elderly care appropriate to the context of Sri Sunthorn Subdistrict and other subdistricts. A content analysis was conducted on various documents, which were then systematically organized and analyzed to summarize key points. The findings were as follows: (1) Foreign contexts emphasize holistic primary healthcare, integrating policies with technology, developing specialized personnel, and collaborating with families and communities to achieve a technology-managed healthcare system. (2) Thailand emphasizes health literacy, reforming the primary healthcare system, promoting the role of local authorities and volunteers to create well-being in communities, and empowering the elderly to manage their own health. (3) Sri Sunthorn Subdistrict addresses immediate health problems, emphasizing proactive and interdisciplinary participation at the local level, relying on local and community resources, leading to acceptance and participation from local people. Recommendations for implementation at the local level include creating a friendly community ecosystem, digital volunteer innovation, smart primary care systems, interdisciplinary integration for self-management, and cross-sectoral collaboration in elderly healthcare.
