The Influence of Financial Ratios on the Profitability of Investment Worthiness of Listed Companies on The Stock Exchange of Thailand during The Pandemic of Coronavirus 2019

The objectives of this research are 1) to study the influence of financial ratios on profitability to be worth the investment 2) to analyze the influence of financial ratios on profitability return on investment (ROIC) and 3) to analyze the influence of financial ratios on the profitability of capital costs (WACC) of listed companies on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Data were collected from the annual report summarizing the information of 227 listed companies on the Stock Exchange of Thailand during the epidemic situation of the coronavirus 2019 in the fiscal year 2019-2021. Multiple regression analysis are employed to analyze the influence between financial ratios and profitability to be worth the investment. The research results indicated that financial ratios statistically significantly influenced profitability on Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) and Weighted-Average Cost of Capital (WACC). However, considering the investment worthiness, it was found that during the outbreak of the Coronavirus 2019, the company was influenced by the financial ratio affecting Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) lower than the Weighted-Average Cost of Capital (WACC). This situation shows that the company's profitability was not worth the investment.
