Keywords:
bar model, arithmetric problemAbstract
The purpose of this research was to (1)development of learning management plan by the arithmetic problem solving abilities of Prathomsuksa 3 students using Polya’s problem solving process with bar model with efficiency according to criteria 75/75. (2) To study the development of academic achievement by the arithmetic problem solving abilities of Prathomsuksa 3 students using Polya’s problem solving process with bar model by using the criteria of 50 percent of the points that were deducted from the test before class.(3) To compare about mathematics learning achievement by the arithmetic problem solving abilities of Prathomsuksa 3 students using Polya’s problem solving process with bar model with 75 percent criteria. (4) To compare the ability to solve arithmetic problems about the arithmetic problem solving abilities of Prathomsuksa 3 students using Polya’s problem solving process with bar model with 70 percent criteria. The sample group consisted of students in Prathomsuksa 3, room 2, 30 people, 2nd semester, academic year 2018, Anuban Chom Phra School Surin Province which is derived from group(Cluster random sampling). The instrument used in this study was a learning management plan by the arithmetic problem solving abilities using Polya’s problem solving process with bar model , Mathematics achievement test and a test to measure the ability to solve mathematical problems.
The research results were as follows:
1. Learning management plan by the arithmetic problem solving abilities of Prathomsuksa 3 students using Polya’s problem solving process with bar model with more efficiency according to criteria 75/75.
2. Development of academic achievement by the arithmetic problem solving abilities of Prathomsuksa 3 students using Polya’s problem solving process with bar model with an average score from the post-test test equal to 17.20 points which is higher than the specified criteria.
3. Students who have been learning by using Polya’s problem solving process with bar model to develop learning achievement in arithmetic problem solving of Prathomsuksa 3 having higher learning achievement than 75 percent at a statistically significant of .05 level.
4. Students who have been learning by using Polya’s problem solving process with bar model to develop the ability in arithmetic problem solving of Prathomsuksa 3 having higher ability than the 70 percent at a statistically significant of .05 level.
