Abstract

          Buddhist monastic education of Sri Lanka arises from the decay and decline of the Sangha. This situation results from the falling of Polonnaruva kingdom. Sinhalese king, who establishes Dambadeniya kingdom, realizes that to rehabilitate and strengthen his country must reform the Sangha because of the Sangha is instrumental group to political propel for harmony and blessedness. The achievement of revival the Sangha appears in the field of monastic education. The effectiveness of monastic education system estimates from many literatures. Moreover, monastic education also connects with Sangha administrative authority without a remainder.
