A Model of Promoting Border Trade between Thailand and Cambodia in the area of Chong Sa-ngam Srisaket Province

The research aimed to study a model of promoting border trade between Thailand and Cambodia in the area of Chong Sa-ngam Srisaket province. The target group, randomized by purposive sampling, consisted of 60 participants cooperating in the border trade in the area of Chong Sa-ngam. The research instruments were questionnaires, focus groups and model evaluation. Collected data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The research findings were as follows: The model comprised 4 elements including principle, objective, operation and success condition. 1) Principle referred to the participation of the participants in the promoting border trade between Thailand and Cambodia in the area of Chong Sa-ngam in promoting the ability and facilitation of entrepreneurs, border trade market development and development of border trade potential. 2) Objective was to promoting border trade in the aforementioned aspects. 3) Operation consisted of: 3.1) the ability of entrepreneurs promoted by knowledge development, management, development of trade and service potential, accounting profitability and business expansion, self-reliance, risk reduction and insurance, personnel development and motivation, financing, marketing promotion and creating a collaborative network; 3.2) the facilitation of entrepreneurs promoted by business facilitation, legal development and preparation, Infrastructure system development, transportation and Logistics, reducing the border process, security and coordination of the two countries; 3.3) border trade market development promoted by transport and traffic promotion, cleanliness, security, landscape promotion, public relations, promoting facilities; 3.4) development of border trade potential promoted by promoting international cooperation, trade development by government agencies, development of the international trade checkpoint, stimulating border trade investment, promotion of investment in Cambodia. 4) Success conditions involved the following: the entrepreneurs must cooperate in the implementation of the model in full capacity, relevant agencies are serious in promoting border trade and coordinating cooperation, and the government must support both policy, budget, personnel and infrastructure.
