A Study of the Use of Goddess Aphrodite (Venus)'s Name as Brand Names and Product Names

Abstract
This article is a documentary research, that aims to analyze brand names and product names using the name of the goddess Aphrodite or Venus in relation to her characteristics. The materials used in this research were 110 brand names and product names collected from the internet between April - May 2023. It was found that almost all of the brand names and product names could be identified with the goddess's characteristics, especially in 1) the aspect of beauty and attractiveness 2) the aspect of pleasure in life and 3) the aspect of elegance. The name of the goddess Aphrodite or Venus was used as brand names or product names for the purpose of consumers' emotional benefits rather than for rational benefits.
