As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The authors ensure that the submission meets all requirements (as specified below) and includes all documentation, including (1) the article file, (2) the submission form, (3) the English language proofreading form, and (4) the human ethics approval (if any). If the article does not meet the requirements, JHNU reserves the right to reject it without proceeding to the preliminary review process.
  • The submitted article has not been previously published or disseminated in any form, and it is not under consideration for publication in any other journal from the date of submission to JHNU.
  • The submitted article does not infringe on the copyrights of others. In cases of a copyright infringement lawsuit concerning any part of the article, the authors, including co-authors, accept full responsibility.
  • All authors have signed the submission form and confirmed the agreement to submit the article for publication, with complete author information provided. In the case of more than one author, the person responsible for coordinating with the journal, even if not the first author, will be designated as the corresponding author.
  • The submitted article has been checked for grammatical and English usage accuracy.
  • This research has been approved by the Human Research Committee (EC/IRB) (*only in the case of research articles involving humans, authors must provide a human ethics approval document).
  • All submitted articles will undergo a plagiarism check using the “Akarawisut” software. If the plagiarism percentage exceeds 15%, the journal reserves the right to reject the article without proceeding to the preliminary review process.

Submission:

Manuscript must be submitted through the online submission system (ThaiJO). The documents that must be uploaded are as follows:

  1. Article files
    – The authors must submit both .docx and .pdf files.

  2. Submission form
    –  All authors must sign the submission agreement and provide all author details on the submission form (to indicate that all co-authors have approved the submission).
    –  If there is more than one contributor to an article, the person responsible for coordinating with the journal (the user who submitted the article via ThaiJO) will be designated as the corresponding author, even if they are not the first author.
    –  **Please ensure that the contributor list is complete. Once your article has been accepted for publication, the contributor list cannot be changed later.

  3. Certification of Proofreading 
    – The author is responsible for the accuracy of the English language used in the manuscript.
    – The proofreader should be someone who has no conflict of interest with the article and has expertise in English in particular.
    – In case the article has passed the language review, the form from that institution or center can be used. However, the form must contain all information according to the journal’s form.

  4. Certification of IRB/EC
    – The authors are required to submit the certificate of approval (COA) from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee (EC) if the research involves human subjects.

Peer Review Process:

JHNU is a refereed journal, with each article undergoing review by three expert reviewers. To uphold academic integrity, the identities and personal information of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential from one another (double-blind review).

Article workflow (from submission to acceptance)

Step 1: The author submits an article to Thaijo

Step 2: JHNU reviews the article (pre-review) within 1-2 weeks

  • a. If it does not pass, JHNU will decline the article.
  • b. If there are suggestions for corrections, JHNU will notify the author to proceed within 2 weeks and return to step 1.
  • c. If the article passes the pre-review, JHNU will notify the author (only external) to pay the fee and submit the article for peer review.

Step 3: The peer reviewers review the article within 4 weeks

  • a. If 2 out of 3 reviewers recommend "Decline Submission", JHNU will decline the article and send the review results and suggestions to the author.
  • b. If the article passes the peer review, JHNU will send the review results to the author for revision.

Step 4: The author revises the article according to the suggestions within 2 weeks.

Step 5: JHNU reviews the revised article for 1-2 weeks.

  • a. If the author receives review results "Resubmit for Review" from any reviewer,  return to step 3.
  • b. If there are additional suggestions, JHNU will notify the author to revise the article and return to step 4.

Step 6: Accept for publication

Manuscript preparation:

The manuscript should not exceed 20 pages in length, including references. Use the B5 paper layout (width: 18.2 cm; height: 25.7 cm). Set the top margin to 3 cm and the left, right, and bottom margins to 2 cm. Use the "Cordia New" font throughout the article with single-line spacing.

Style:

JHNU accepts manuscripts in two languages: Thai and English. Authors must use an academically appropriate writing format and language, ensuring correct formatting and spelling.

 

Abstract:

The manuscript must include an abstract in both Thai and English, summarizing the main points of the article. The Thai abstract should not exceed 10 lines, and the English abstract should not exceed 200 words, with the total length not exceeding the second page of the manuscript. The order depends on the language of the manuscript. (For example, if the manuscript is written in Thai, the Thai abstract should be placed first, followed by the English one.) The author is responsible for the accuracy of the language used in the abstract.

 

Keywords:

The author must specify 3-5 keywords for the paper arranged according to the level of relevance

 

Articles from a research project, thesis, dissertation, or part of the study:

Please include the following information in the footnote on page 1 of the article:

  • This article is part of the research project "..." (followed by the name of the funding source, year of funding, and contract number).
  • This article is part of the thesis "..." (followed by the name of the degree, field of study, institution, and academic year).
  • This article is part of the course "..." (followed by the name of the degree, field of study, institution, and academic year).

 

References:

All cited materials must be listed in alphabetical order in the references list at the end of the paper. Both in-text citation and references must be in English using the same system throughout the article, APA 7th Edition. The authors must be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all citations.
