กลวิธีการแปลจากภาษาไทยเป็นภาษาอังกฤษในหนังสือทวิพากย์เรื่อง ‘ธรรมนูญชีวิต พุทธจริยธรรมเพื่อชีวิตที่ดีงาม’

บทคัดย่อ
จากการทบทวนวรรณกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้องพบว่า ตัวบทพระพุทธศาสนาในนิกายเถรวาทที่มีรากฐานมาจากภาษาบาลี โดยเฉพาะในบริบทไทย ยังได้รับความสนใจในงานวิจัยด้านการแปลค่อนข้างน้อย โดยเฉพาะการศึกษากลวิธีการแปลในระดับโครงสร้าง งานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพนี้จึงมุ่งศึกษากลวิธีการแปลระดับคำและระดับโครงสร้างจากภาษาไทยเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ ในหนังสือสองภาษาเรื่อง ‘ธรรมนูญชีวิต พุทธจริยธรรมเพื่อชีวิตที่ดีงาม’ ผลงานประพันธ์ของพระพรหมคุณาภรณ์ (ป.อ. ปยุตฺโต) แปลโดย บรูซ อีวานส์ (Payutto, 2007) ซึ่งเป็นหนังสือที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการถ่ายทอดธรรมะตามแนวทางนิกายเถรวาท ในการศึกษากลวิธีการแปลในระดับคำ ใช้กลวิธีการแปลของ Baker (2018) เป็นกรอบในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล และมีการวิเคราะห์กลวิธีการแปลอื่น ๆ ที่อุบัติขึ้นมานอกเหนือจากกรอบกลวิธีการแปลที่กำหนด ส่วนการศึกษากลวิธีการแปลในระดับโครงสร้าง ใช้การวิเคราะห์แก่นสาระเพื่อวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ผลการวิจัยพบการใช้กลวิธีการแปลในระดับคำ 8 กลวิธี โดยพบกลวิธีการแปลโดยใช้คำยืม (มีหรือไม่มีคำอธิบายประกอบ) มากที่สุด ส่วนกลวิธีการแปลในระดับโครงสร้าง พบ 5 กลวิธี โดยพบการปรับโครงสร้างนามวลีใหม่มากที่สุด อาจกล่าวได้ว่า ผลการศึกษาในครั้งนี้ ช่วยขยายองค์ความรู้ด้านการแปลตัวบทพระพุทธศาสนา และนำเสนอข้อคิดเชิงปฏิบัติให้แก่นักแปลและผู้ให้การศึกษาด้านการแปล
