ดนตรีกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ลาหู่ภาคใต้ ประเทศไทย: อัตลักษณ์ในบริบทสังคมหลากวัฒนธรรม

บทคัดย่อ

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาอัตลักษณ์และลักษณะทางดนตรีที่โดดเด่นของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ลาหู่ ตลอดจนวิเคราะห์รูปแบบการปรับตัวทางดนตรีและวัฒนธรรมภายใต้บริบทพหุวัฒนธรรมในภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย โดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ประกอบด้วยการสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้างกับสมาชิกในชุมชนจำนวน 13 คน และการสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วมเป็นระยะเวลา 60 ชั่วโมง ณ บ้านสวนส้มโกช้าง อำเภอเบตง จังหวัดยะลา ข้อมูลที่ได้ถูกนำมาวิเคราะห์โดยอาศัยกรอบแนวคิดทางดนตรีชาติพันธุ์วิทยา ทฤษฎีการแพร่กระจายทางวัฒนธรรม และทฤษฎีอัตลักษณ์ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ดนตรีของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ลาหู่ดำรงอยู่ภายใต้แนวคิด “ความยืดหยุ่นภายในกรอบ” (bounded flexibility) โดยแก่นสารของอัตลักษณ์ทางดนตรีถูกถ่ายทอดผ่านแนวปฏิบัติในการแสดง ลักษณะเสียง รูปแบบจังหวะ และการถ่ายทอดทางเสียงร้อง มากกว่าการยึดติดกับเครื่องดนตรีชนิดใดชนิดหนึ่งโดยเฉพาะ แนวคิดดังกล่าวเอื้อให้ชุมชนสามารถธำรงรักษาอัตลักษณ์หลักของตนไว้ได้ ขณะเดียวกันก็สามารถปรับตัวให้สอดคล้องกับอิทธิพลทางวัฒนธรรมจากภายนอก การศึกษานี้ชี้ให้เห็นถึงความจำเป็นของนโยบายการอนุรักษ์วัฒนธรรมที่ตระหนักถึงธรรมชาติที่เปลี่ยนแปลงและพลวัตของอัตลักษณ์ในสังคมพหุวัฒนธรรม
