The Development of Tourist Routes for the Local Wisdom Learning Hub at Khoh Lad E-Thaen and a Cultural Connection Corners in Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract
This research article has three main objectives: 1) to study the indigenous wisdom of Koh Lad E-Thaen and the culturally connected areas in Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom Province, at present 2) to develop a tourism route highlighting the learning centers of local wisdom in Koh Lad E-Thaen and its culturally linked areas in Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom Province and 3) to evaluate the tourism route of these learning centers and cultural areas. The research employs a mixed methodology, including: documentary research, where relevant literature was reviewed and analyzed; qualitative research, using in-depth interviews with 16 participants and focus group discussions with 12 stakeholders including community leaders, local sages, Buddhist scholars, and tourists; and action research, involving 25 participants in activities aimed at developing and testing the tourism learning route.
The research findings are as follows:
1) Study of Local Wisdom: The development of tourism in Koh Lad E-Thaen has emphasized eco-tourism and agricultural tourism with a focus on educational activities and local products. These initiatives aim to promote cultural and historical tourism by creating meaningful experiences for tourists, emphasizing environmental conservation and the practical application of local wisdom. The tourism model highlights visit to religious and historical landmarks combined with participatory activities that enhance learning and appreciation of the local heritage. This approach has proven effective in promoting local knowledge and creating impactful tourist experiences.
2) Tourism Route Development: The development activities focused on creating promotional media and educational tools to support agro-tourism, enabling visitors to learn about agriculture and environmental conservation. Workshops and exhibitions were organized to showcase local wisdom and historical learning centers. The use of accessible media and collaboration with model communities were key strategies in enhancing learning and raising awareness. This contributed to income generation and job creation for local communities, while also encouraging education and the preservation of indigenous knowledge for both locals and tourists.
3) Evaluation of the Tourism Route: The assessment of the tourism learning route was conducted through a paired t-test comparing pre- and post-activity evaluation scores from 25 participants. The results showed a significant difference between the pre- and post-test scores, indicating that participation in the activities had a positive impact on the participants' understanding and appreciation of the local wisdom and culturally connected tourism route in Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom Province.
