Main Article Content
Abstract
This research article aimed (1) to examine the current conditions of learning management that incorporates local wisdom to enhance entrepreneurial skills among high school students under the jurisdiction of the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Surin Province, and (2) to analyze the approaches for applying local wisdom in learning management to develop entrepreneurial skills among upper secondary school students in Surin Province. A qualitative research design was employed, specifically a descriptive qualitative approach. The study was conducted in Surin Province, with key informants including students, teachers, and local wisdom experts, totaling 15 individuals selected through purposive sampling. Data collection tools comprised in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, and data were analyzed using content analysis.
The findings revealed that:
- Learning management that incorporates local wisdom in secondary schools is characterized by integrating community knowledge into the learning process through fieldwork, hands-on practice, and collaborative participation among teachers, students, and community scholars. The learning process emphasized core entrepreneurial skills, including communication, planning, technological competence, and creativity.
- The proposed approach to integrating local wisdom in learning management should be implemented through a learning process that is closely connected to local ways of life. It should include community-based project learning activities, beginning with problem identification and contextual analysis within the community. This approach promotes student engagement in real-world practice while fostering analytical thinking, reflective learning, and collaboration to enhance entrepreneurial potential and sustainable innovation grounded in local wisdom.
The results of this study highlight the significance of local wisdom as a powerful mechanism in holistic entrepreneurial skill development among students. It also demonstrates its potential for local development and long-term community sustainability.
