The Development of Simulation Interactive Media to Develop Media Literacy Skills for Junior High School Students

Abstract
The purposes of the research were to 1) develop a simulation interactive media to develop media literacy skills for junior high school students according to specified criteria of E1/E2 2) compare media literacy skills for junior high school students before and after using simulation interactive media and 3) measure junior high school students’ satisfaction with the simulation interactive media. The research instruments were as follows 1) simulation interactive media has three learning units: using technology safety, using technology creatively and the legal use of technology. 2) Pre-test, post-test and 3) a questionnaire on satisfaction. The sample in this research consisted of 30 junior high school students at Watbuaroy School, Samutprakran Province, which was selected by using cluster random sampling. The statistics used for the data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation E1/E2 = 80/80 and t-test dependent.
The results revealed that: 1) simulation interactive media to develop media literacy skills was developed with the efficiency 83.19/86.44 2) the media literacy skills of students had higher media literacy skills after using simulation interactive media and 3) students’ satisfaction towards the simulation interactive media was found at the highest level. Therefore, The development of simulation interactive media to develop media literacy skills for junior high school student that can be used in student learning with quality.
