Logistics Management Strategies for Enhancing International Transportation Competitiveness
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to examine logistics management concepts, analyze the strategic environment, and develop strategies to enhance international transportation competitiveness. A multiphase mixed-methods research design was employed, integrating quantitative and qualitative data collected from logistics experts, import–export entrepreneurs, and supply chain analysts, totaling 399 respondents. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI Modified).
The findings indicate that the logistics management framework for enhancing international transportation capability comprises four key dimensions: cost and efficiency factors, technology and digital logistics, international logistics risk management, and relevant policies and regulations. The strategic environment analysis reveals major strengths in extensive supply chain networks, the application of digital technologies, and cost control capabilities. Key weaknesses include complex customs regulations, shortages of skilled logistics personnel, and high energy costs. Opportunities arise from the growth of e-commerce, global logistics infrastructure development, and the adoption of automation and artificial intelligence, while threats stem from economic and political uncertainty, climate change, and cybersecurity risks. These insights lead to five core strategies: digital technology adoption, cost and efficiency management, logistics network and infrastructure development, supply chain risk management, and compliance with international standards and regulations to achieve sustainable competitiveness.
