This research, “The Path of Achieving Perfections of a Bodhisattva According to Theravada Buddhism,” aims to 1) study the Dhamma principles related to Bodhisattva perfections, 2) examine the process of this path, and 3) analyze its forms in Theravada Buddhism.

The findings indicate that the Ten Perfections (Dasa Parami) serve as the fundamental moral and spiritual framework for a Bodhisattva’s journey toward enlightenment, emphasizing the cultivation of virtues, self-sacrifice, and wisdom. This process extends across multiple lifetimes and unfolds in three progressive levels: 1) Ordinary Perfections (Parami), 2) Superior Perfections (Upaparami), and 3) Ultimate Perfections (Paramatthaparami), each reflecting deepening levels of dedication. A Bodhisattva must maintain their aspiration with unwavering determination.

The forms of Bodhisattva practice can be categorized into 1) renunciation and ascetic discipline, 2) celibacy and monastic observance, and 3) altruistic dedication to all beings. While Theravada Buddhism primarily focuses on the attainment of Arahantship, the Bodhisattva path remains a vital alternative for those aspiring to Buddhahood.

This study presents an integrated understanding of the Bodhisattva ideal within the Theravada tradition. It highlights a structured path of spiritual development and offers practical implications for personal growth and collective benefit in contemporary contexts.
