A Needs Assessment of Excellence Administration for Private Schools under the Provincial Education Officer, Phatthalung Province

Abstract

This research aims to 1) To study the actual and expected conditions of private school administration towards excellence. 2) To assess the needs necessary for the management of private schools towards excellence. 3) To study guidelines for developing Excellence Administration for Private Schools under the Provincial Education Officer, Phatthalung Province. The sample group is divided into 2 parts: a sample group for finding a way to develop private school administration towards excellence by brainstorming opinions from 5 successful administrators in administration and a sample group for analyzing needs from 269 teachers. A questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection using simple random sampling with a reliability of .984. The statistics used for data analysis were mean score, standard deviation, and needs index. The research results found that 1) The overall actual conditions were at a high level and the overall expected conditions were at the highest level. 2) The assessment of needs for private school administration towards excellence had the highest needs in terms of operations, followed by results and students and stakeholders. 3) The guidelines for developing private schools under the Office of the Provincial Education of Phatthalung towards excellence should create networks within private schools and private schools of different groups. It should give importance to building relationships with parents, communities, educational institutions, and other agencies in the community. It should emphasize academic achievement by developing individual learners to their full potential.
