Abstract

The purpose of this quasi-experimental research was to compare the mean scores of nursing knowledge and practical skills regarding basic life support of nursing students before and after participating in the activity-integrated teaching and learning program under the concept of constructivism and to explore student satisfaction with the teaching program on basic life support for nursing students.  The sample group consisted of 139 second-year nursing students in the academic year 2023. The research tools were a test on basic life support and a questionnaire to assess students' satisfaction with teaching and learning about basic life support. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Paired t-test.

The results showed that the mean score of knowledge and nursing practice skills regarding basic life support of nursing students after participating in this integrated activity-based teaching program, "Youth Leaders, CPR Practitioners," was significantly higher than before participating at the .01 level (Mean=4.61, S.D.=.56) and (Mean=4.85, S.D.=.66) respectively. Overall satisfaction was at the highest level (Mean=4.86, S.D.=.72).
