A GRADUATION PIANO RECITAL FOR THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS WHO ARE AUTISM

Abstract

A graduation piano recital entails a process of developing piano playing skills and techniques to execute an entire set of twelve songs in the public. Regardless, given that the performer has characteristics associated with autism, challenges arise in language learning and expressing emotions. This study therefore aims to address the challenges faced during the development of piano skills through collaboration among the performer, the parent who assists with study recordings, and the teacher who explores learning methods. Besides, the study examines the use of educational resources to help memorize including notebooks and videos clips, for reviewing outside the classroom. The resulting method facilitates proficient individual performances by interpreters who possess an in-depth understanding of the musical piece, leading to success in the Bachelor of Music Program.
