The study, conducted through document analysis, observation, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and data analysis, revealed that Laem Pho was both a sacred site rooted in local beliefs and a natural cape extending into Songkhla Lake. The cultural capital identity of Ban Laem Pho is categorized into three key dimensions: 1) *Cultural capital in traditions and beliefs*: The community observed the water-based Chak Phra festival, a Buddhist tradition where a Buddha statue was placed in a beautifully decorated pavilion on a boat, accompanied by rhythmic drumming as it was transported to Laem Pho. Following the procession, boat races were held, with two rowers per team competing. The legend of the "Sacred Serpent Ancestor" (Tuad Ngu) was also significant, with a ritual held at the Tuad Ngu Pavilion involving offerings of flowers, incense, candles, firecrackers, and fresh eggs. A traditional dish called Tom Sam Liam was prepared as an offering to monks and was also hung on the boats during the end of Buddhist Lent.
2) *Cultural capital in traditional craftsmanship and livelihoods*: The community has practiceds long-tail boatbuilding, a craft passed down through generations, used primarily for transportation and coastal fishing. The skill of making nets (mat kat) has been also significant, requiring precise tying of plastic and lead buoys. Small-scale fishing in Songkhla Lake has been a primary livelihood, providing essential resources for the community’s sustenance. 3) *Cultural capital in performing arts*: The Laem Pho boat songs have been traditional songs originally sung by rowers to coordinate their rowing rhythm and to enhance the joy of the Chak Phra festival. In conclusion, the cultural capital identity of Ban Laem Pho plays a crucial role in fostering social cohesion and promoting peaceful coexistence within the community.
2025-12-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES SONGKHLA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITYhttps://so03.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/husoskru/article/view/277344LINGUISTIC LANDSCAPE OF KRATOM ADVERTISING: A CASE STUDY ALONG THE KRABI-SONGKHLA ROUTE2024-08-02T12:56:51+07:00Alisa Khumkhiamjaruekjanwong@gmail.comYutthichai Uppakandeeyutthichai5119@gmail.comJaruek Janwongjaruekjanwong@gmail.com
This research aimed to study the linguistic patterns, content, and structural features of language used in Kratom advertising signs. The research method employed a synthesis of document analysis and focus group discussions with 15 specialists in tourism, social welfare, and sexual health. The data was examined and integrated within the context of sustainable development in tourism. The research findings reveal that sex tourism conflicts with the concepts of sustainable development regarding ethics and its adverse effects on society. whereas there exists a shared aspect within the economic component that produces revenue at both national and local levels. To effectively integrate sex tourism with sustainable development, it is essential to implement policies that correspond with sustainability principles. This includes legalizing service trade, establishing governance structures, ensuring the rights of sex workers, preventing human rights abuses, fostering community engagement, and diversifying tourism models. Moreover, efficient communication is necessary to encourage understanding, alongside the establishment of a system of indicators for the ongoing evaluation of policy implementation. It synthesizes research articles published in the Thai Journals Online database (ThaiJO) and some from the national academic conferences published since 2017 onwards. A total of 31 articles were reviewed. The findings revealed that 20 of them (64.52%) contained deficiencies, which were classified into four main issues: 1) Lack of reporting on independence analysis of all predictor variables, 2) Lack of reporting on the distribution analysis of the data, 3) Lack of reporting on variance analysis of the data, and 4) Lack of presentation of the MLR equation. When presenting results using MLR in public administration research articles, researchers must follow two steps: the first step involves presenting the underlying assumptions of regression analysis, and the second step includes presenting a table of MLR analysis results along with the regression equation in both unstandardized and standardized scores.
2025-12-29T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES SONGKHLA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY
