AFTER ACTION REVIEW FROM CONTEST AND COMPETITIVE - BASED LEARNING: A CASE STUDY OF NEWS DOCUMENTARY PRODUCTION SUBMITTED SAIFANOI AWARD

Abstract
During the past 5 years (2015 - 2019) the teaching of Communication Arts Program, Faculty of Management Science, Songkhla Rajabhat University has conducted based on a contest and competitive learning process. We used problems from the contests or competitions as an assignment for students to practice as well Communication Arts professional’s works. All students had equal opportunities to produce works for submitted contests or competitions and put their works to real use. They also received advice from national professional experts to improve their workings. The results of contest and competitive learning have made Communication Arts students successful, they have won 16 awards for five consecutive years. Therefore, we have after action review from contest and competitive learning process were based on news documentary production submitted Saifanoi award as the production of news documentary learning model and received 3 levels outcomes: 1.Learner level showed that students learned to set goals in a systematic work, work as a team, work as a professional include awarding could inspired them to work and they gained new knowledge from the criticism of the experts. 2.Instructor level showed that Instructor could integrated work process adjustment, develop their own learning regularly and gained new knowledge from the criticism of the experts. And 3.Institution level gained indicators and reputation from the student's performance. Therefore, contest and competitive - based Learning like this will guide the Communication Arts program in other universities and other disciplines can be utilized further.
