Analysis on Operation of a Potential Development Project for Government Officials and Personnel in the Southern Border Provinces under the Administrative Center of the Southern Border Provinces

Abstract

This study is an analysis of the effects on the operation of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center, which aimed to analyze an operation of potential development project for government officials and personnel in the Southern Border Provinces, and to study the lessons learned from such project operation. This applied research collected data from relevant documents and in-depth interviews from five key informants who participated in the potential development project for government officials and personnel in the southern border provinces from 2018 – 2022. Moreover, the strengths, weaknesses, and lessons of participants were analyzed in this study. The findings found that the strengths of this project were the organizers had appropriate skills in transferring knowledge and the project were operated continuously. Meanwhile, the weaknesses were that the target group had not been extensively determined, the content was overly academic, and problems happened from individuals. Also, it was found that participants learned from the following 5 important issues including an awareness cultivation of being good civil servants, coexistence under multiculturalism, having a positive attitude toward each other, building trust, and connecting and integrating collaboration among sectors in the southern border provinces. Hence, the results of the study will be useful for problem solving and deciding whether to further implement the project.
