Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to investigate students’ experiences with using ChatGPT for English language learning at Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University. The sample consisted of 360 undergraduate students aged between 18 and 20 years. The research instrument was a questionnaire examining students’ experiences with using ChatGPT to support four English language skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. The data were analyzed using percentages, means, and standard deviations.
The findings revealed that students had extensive experience with ChatGPT, with an overall mean score of 3.88. When ranked across the four language skills, students reported using ChatGPT most frequently for writing ( = 4.25), followed by reading (
= 4.00), listening (
= 3.82), and speaking (
= 3.48), respectively. Considering specific items, students most frequently used ChatGPT to check grammar, structure, and coherence in their writing and essays (
= 4.82). In contrast, the least frequent experience was using ChatGPT to explain common English idioms or phrases and practicing speaking with those expressions (
