People Participation in the Local Development Plan Making of Kokchang Sub-District Organization, Bangsai District, Ayutthaya Province

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to 1) study the level of community participation in the development of local development plans by the Khokchang sub-district administration organization, and 2) investigate the strategies to enhance community participation in the formulation of local development plans. The research methodology comprised two stages: Stage 1 involved quantitative research with a sample group of 340 respondents, utilizing questionnaires; Stage 2 comprised qualitative research with 11 key informants, employing interviews. The research findings revealed that: 1) the overall level of community participation in the development of local development plans by the Khokchang sub-district administration organization was moderate. The highest average score was observed in the aspect of participation in benefiting from the outcomes, while the lowest average score was noted in the aspect of participation in evaluating outcomes. 2) Strategies to promote community participation in the formulation of local development plans include organizing community events on holidays and utilizing diverse communication channels. Moreover, it is recommended to involve residents as a committee in the formulation of local development plans to present the community's needs and concerns.
