การวิจัยเชิงสร้างสรรค์ บทประพันธ์เพลง เดวิสฟินอมินอน The Creative Research on the Musical Composition of Davis Phenomenon
Main Article Content
Abstract
Davis Phenomenon is a composition for a full Jazz band, funded by the Research Institute of Rangsit University as part of the ‘Art Creative Research’ project. Its purpose is to mark the 30th anniversary of the passing of Miles Davis, an influential Jazz musician of the 20th century, and as a tribute to his contributions to Modal Jazz and Fusion Jazz.
The composition lasts for ten minutes. It contains three parts: Bebop, Modal Jazz, and Fusion Jazz. Melody and Chord Progression were conceived out of Davis’s birthdate, turning them into a set of notes which I employed to conceive the melody and the Chord Progression. Incorporating some of Davis’s musical concepts, the piece accomplishes its twofold purpose: as a tribute to Davis and as a piece for live performance.
