A STUDY OF THE MEDITATION CENTER IN THAILAND: THAI PLUM VILLAGE

Abstract
This article is to be the source of information for the study of Buddhist meditation of Thai Plum Village in order to understand the meditation in this center and how different it is from the meditation in the Mahasatipatthana sutta and Visuddhimagga. It is found that Buddhist meditation of Thai Plum Village has its roots from Zen meditation but it is also similar to the Theravada meditation. However, the Buddhist meditation of Thai Plum Village is the meditation which teaches the issue on building peace. This is perhaps due to the fact that Thich Nhat Hanh, the founder of Thai Plum Village, lived during the time of the Vietnam War.
