DEVELOPMENT DISCOURSE UNDER THE NEW MEANING OF “THAILAND 4.0”

Abstract
Due to the country development in the past, Thailand-nation-state has constructed a dominating process to control its citizens through a development discourse under various terms such as sustainable development, sustainable communities and sufficiency economy. In Prayuth Chan-Ocha government, a development discourse called “Thailand 4.0” has been produced. It is believed that Thailand 4.0 will make Thailand go beyond the middle-income country and will be out of poverty. Although the poverty reduction has been the major policy of every government, there is no nation-state development discourse that can reduce the poverty problem in the past 60 years of the national economic and social development plans. In the post-export-ruling economy nowadays, Thailand has dreamed that “Thailand 4.0” will be the solution of the economic development of the country.
