MUSLIMS OF KLONGTAKEIN COMMUNITY AND SAMPHAO LOM COMMUNITY IN PHRANAKORN SI AYUTTHAYA DISTRICT: PRELIMINARY SURVEY

Abstract
This article aims to study the history and background of the Thai Muslims in Klongtakein subdistrict and Samphao Lom subdistrict in Phranakhon si Ayutthaya district since the first Muslim settlers in the Ayutthaya period. The Muslims have a variety of occupations such as working in government, trading, farming and fishery. The Muslims who came to connect the relationship with Ayutthaya had various nationalities such as Persian, Arab, Malay and Cham. Klongtakein community and Sampao Lom community are the two ancient Muslims communities of Phranakorn Si Ayutthaya district consisting of Muslims from many nationalities who came to Thailand and have become Thai people.
From the study of the spoken languages of Muslims of Klongtakein subdistrict and Samphao Lom subdistrict, it is found that Thai, Malay and Arabic words are mixed and are well understood. The one having an ability to practice the religion and being an academic will be chosen as a religious teacher, so the people of Klongtakein and Samphao Lom can learn religion and practice the religious activities very well.
