Taiwan’s Bilingual Policy: What Thailand Should Learn From

Abstract
The "Bilingual Nation 2030" policy aims to develop Taiwan into a society proficient in both Mandarin Chinese and English by 2030. This policy focuses on enhancing the workforce's bilingual capabilities to boost Taiwan's global competitiveness and economic opportunities. This academic paper analyzes Taiwan's bilingual policy, its key components, and its impact on Taiwan's linguistic landscape. Additionally, the authors present our perspective for the potential lessons Thailand can learn from Taiwan's bilingual policy and insights Thailand can adapt to reform an effective English language education system that prepares its citizens to face the challenges and competition of the 21st century.
