Abstract

            The objectives of this article are 1) to study the history of the Abhidhanap-patipika and 2) to analyze the Buddha’s name as appeared in the 1-2 stanzas. It is a documentary article. The results found that Abhidhānappadīpikā, or the Pali dictionary is a book that deals with the nomenclature of the text that appears in the world of man, the heavenly world, the underworld, and the planes of loss and woe. The Abhidhanapathipika was divided into three parts, namely Saggakanda, Bhukanda, and Samanyakanda. An analysis of the name of the Lord Buddha that appears in the 1st-2nd stanzas can be analyzed in 2 characteristics, namely : grammatical analysis and analyze in terms of principles.
