MAHACHATI PREACHING : TRADITION FROM THE ANCIENT PERIOD UNTIL THE PRESENT IN THAILAND

Abstract

This article aims to present the history of the Mahachati preaching and tradition from the ancient period until the present in Thailand. In addition, we have studied the trend of practice until the age of the new generation whether they maintain the good traditions. The study indicated that the tradition of the Mahachati preaching must be changed according to the era. At the present, the Mahachati preaching is still very limited. Some of these traditions have no progress. Moreover, the Buddhist preachers can’t study the traditional preaching style due to lack of direct education. It’s just only an informal learning.
