Abstract

This research which is a qualitative one is of purpose and objective
1. To study principles of Dharma which can be permanently used for public mind,
2. To study factors and follow public mind making practice to the present society firmly, and 3. To study the problem and obstacle in a work of public mind, proceeding a research in collecting data by comprehensive interview from a public mind specified by the researcher about six laymen/monks. The instruments used for this research is a deep interview. From that a common image is descriptively offered. The result of research is found that a work of public mind from an aspect of Buddhism is a training of mind, reducing refinements and grasp in self, able to make satisfaction on oneself’s values. It is a practice which should not be neglected in training and developing oneself. According to principles of Buddhism a work of public mind is to practice Dharma or take chance in training oneself for the benefit of oneself and the other. There are principles of Buddhism promoted to the qualities of public mind in a form of being a good human friend and bringing about beauty in the society permanently.
