PUBLIC MIND: MEANINGS, MEASUREMENT, COMPONENTS AS WELL AS INDICATORS OF STUDENTS IN RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY
Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study and analyze the meanings, measurement, components as well as indicators concerning the term “Public Mind” and 2) to analyze some factors influencing the term “Public Mind” of students studying in Rajabhat Universities Group in Bangkok area. Two sample groups were studied and analyzed; namely, 1) students studying in Rajabhat Universities Group in Bangkok area and 2) some research papers and research articles concerning “Public Mind” published from 2009 to 2016. Three research instruments were employed in this study; namely, 1) the form for recording criteria of selecting research papers and research articles, 2) the form of recording the findings and 3) the form for recording the efficiency of research instruments. The data and information were purposively collected then analyzed and presented through content analysis method. The findings were concluded in terms of their meanings and then analyzed through “Multiple Regressions” in order to describe some factors influencing the term “Public Mind”. The results obtained in this study were divided into two points as followed:
1) The term “Public Mind” was defined as; the prevention of some actions prone to cause any damages to public properties, the feelings of being proud, jealous and concerned about values of public properties, the willingness of preserving or conserving public properties instead of occupying them. The term “Public Mind” was composed of being conscious on the responsibilities and dedication of conserving as well as sustaining the public properties to the new generation, the feelings of being as part of or owning public properties. The term “Public Mind” was indicated by being concerned of human rights in terms of equality and equity of individuals, the passion and admiration of invaluable creativeness and national values, the consciousness, attempt and willingness of preserving national identities.
2) Some factors influencing the term “Public Mind” included a) According to the application, the predictive valuables were the Buddhist’s way of nurturing children, the fundamental moralities and experiences, ability to control or deal with a situation, and the actions or samples of people surrounding, b) according to the feeling of being responsible, the predictive valuables were the Buddhist’s way of nurturing children, ability to control or deal with a situation, experiences, moralities, the actions or samples of people surrounding, and mentality, c) according to the respect in human rights, the predictive valuables were the Buddhist’s way of nurturing children, the belief in individual authority, the actions or samples of people surrounding and experiences
