บทคัดย่อ

With the rapid advancement of modernization and globalization, traditional Daur settlements are facing multiple challenges, including functional decline, spatial transformation, and weakening cultural identity. Interethnic marriages with the Han population, harsh climatic conditions, and the modernization of infrastructure have significantly altered the original settlement patterns, social structures, and modes of production and living. Against this backdrop, the urgent issue arises of how to preserve the unique cultural characteristics of Daur settlements while promoting their integration with contemporary communities. This study investigates the spatial characteristics of Daur settlements-such as site selection principles, architectural forms, functional zoning, and interactions with the natural environment—and analyzes the evolving needs of modern communities. From the perspectives of functional diversity, spatial openness, cultural heritage preservation, and ecological sustainability, the paper explores integration strategies between traditional settlements and modern communities. Based on theoretical analysis and case studies, key design strategies are proposed: optimizing spatial structure to enhance livability, strengthening public spaces to promote cultural expression and social interaction, integrating green technologies to achieve sustainable development, and encouraging community participation to reinforce cultural identity and a sense of belonging. This article aims to establish a balanced approach between cultural preservation and modern development, providing a scientific and operable framework for spatial planning. The findings offer valuable insights for the sustainable transformation of Daur settlements and serve as a reference for other ethnic communities undergoing modernization.
