The development of English reading and writing ability and satisfaction using CIRC cooperative learning technique for the first year of marketing students

บทคัดย่อ

The research purposes were 1) to compare post-test and pre-test ability using CIRC Cooperative Learning Technique of English reading and writing for Marketing students , 2) to compare post-test ability using the CIRC Cooperative Learning Technique of English reading and writing for Marketing students and the criteria 75 percent of full score, and 3) to study the students’ satisfaction level of CIRC Cooperative Learning Technique on English reading and writing for Marketing students. The research design was one-group pre-test post-test design. The samples used were simple random sampling consisting of 30 Marketing students in Class 3 of GuangXi College of Occupational Technology. The research instruments included 1) Lesson plan of English reading and writing based on CIRC Cooperative Learning Technique, 2) the learning achievement test of 20 questions and 1 writing task which had the difficulty value (0.40–0.67), the discriminant value (0.2–0.67) and had an Alpha Cronbach reliability value (0.709), and 3) the Satisfaction questionnaire with 15 items which had the Item Objective Congruence value (IOC= 1.00) and Alpha Cronbach reliability value (0.721). The statistics used for data analysis were mean, percentage, standard deviation, and t-test. The results of the research were as follows;  (1) The post-test ability was statistically higher than that of pretest at .05 level, and (2) the post-test ability was significantly higher than the criteria of 75 percent criterion at .05 level. (3) The students were satisfied with the learning activities. Overall, all aspects had a mean of 4.83 with the highest satisfaction level.
