The COVID-19 infection prevention and control for home and community settings

Abstract
Home isolation (HI) and community isolation (CI) care management for patients with asymptomatic, pre-symptomatic and mild signs and symptoms of COVID-19 are a public health technique employed to reduce overcrowding of health care setting and to increase capacity of the health care workers. The COVID-19 infection prevention and control (IPC) for home and community settings is a concern of everyone in the facility which requires a rapid implementation strategy. The purpose of this article is to present the concept and practice of the COVID-19 IPC for home and community settings as followed: 1) concept of IPC for home and community settings, 2) components of IPC for home and community settings, and 3) practice of the COVID-19 IPC for home and community settings. The framework enhance interventions to improve and focus on patient safety and quality of healthcare in primary care setting.
