Abstract
สภานิติบัญญัติแห่งชาติ ได้แก้ไขพระราชบัญญัติยาเสพติดให้โทษ พ.ศ.2522 เปิดโอกาสให้มีการนำกัญชามาใช้ในทางการแพทย์ได้ แพทย์เวชศาสตร์ครอบครัวควรมีความรู้เรื่องนี้เป็นอย่างดี เพื่อให้สามารถนำมาใช้ประโยชน์กับผู้ป่วยได้อย่างเต็มที่และป้องกันผลเสียที่อาจจะเกิดขึ้น ประเด็นที่แพทย์เวชศาสตร์ครอบครัวควรรู้ ได้แก่ การใช้กัญชาทางการแพทย์ในอดีต เภสัชวิทยาของยากัญชา สรรพคุณของยากัญชารักษาโรค การใช้กัญชาเพื่อป้องกันโรค วิธีใช้กัญชาและขนาดยากัญชา ภาวะแทรกซ้อน และทิศทางการพัฒนาในอนาคต
