THE OFF – SEASON LONGAN PRODUCTION OF FARMER BANHONG DISTRICT, LAMPHUN PROVINCE การผลิตลำไยนอกฤดูของเกษตรกร อำเภอบ้านโฮ่ง จังหวัดลำพูน

Abstract

The cross-sectional descriptive study purposes were: 1) to study off-season longan production and 2) to synthesis of problems and suggestions recommendation on resolving the off-season longan production. The sample of this research was composed of 330 farmers who live in Ban Hong district, Lamphun province and 12 stakeholders were participated in this study. The data were collected through questionnaires, participant observation and focus group. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and content analysis. It was found that farmer using  increase flowering  by potassium  chlorate  (KClO₃)  during May – August. The problems of production factor; for example, the workers were not adequate to meet the labor demand, the problems of capital and lacking of irrigation. They suggested that the government should bio – product using activity to replace chemicals, co –operative of the longan^,s farmers and agricultural residues utilization.
