The journal is published by the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, to promote and encourage the exchange of knowledge in the fields of Islamic Studies and Muslim Studies, particularly in the areas of:

- Islamic Economics
- Middle East Studies
Objective
The Journal of Islamic Studies [JOIS] is a peer-reviewed academic journal published twice a year by the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. It aims to promote scholarly dissemination and the exchange of knowledge in the fields of Islamic Studies, Muslim Studies, Islamic Law, Islamic Economics, and Middle East Studies among both national and international scholars.
Focus and Scope
JOIS accepts academic works in the fields of Islamic Studies and Muslim Studies, with specific focus on:
- Islamic Law
- Islamic Economics
- Middle East Studies
Types and Length of Articles
- Research Articles: 8–15 pages
- Academic Articles: 8–15 pages
- Book Reviews: 2–5 pages

JOIS accepts articles written in the following four languages:
- Thai
- English
- Malay

Publication Schedule
Published twice a year, each issue consisting of 8–10 articles:

Peer Review Process
Each manuscript submitted to JOIS undergoes an initial review by the editorial board to assess its relevance to the journal's aims and scope. If suitable, the manuscript is then reviewed by at least three qualified experts using a double-blinded peer review process, in which both author and reviewer identities are concealed from each other.
