A STUDY OF FACTORS AFFECTING CHINESE PEOPLE DECISION TO PARTICIPATE IN MUAY THAI TRAINING AT MUAY THAI CAMPS IN THAILAND

Abstract
This research aims to 1) Study the factors influencing the decision to train in Muay Thai and 2) Compare the factors influencing the decision to train in Muay Thai at Muay Thai camps in Thailand among Chinese citizens. This is a survey research. The sample consisted of 400 Chinese citizens who traveled to Thailand during January–February 2026, obtained using Taro Yamane's sample size determination at a 95% confidence level, followed by purposive sampling. The research instrument was a 5-level Likert scale questionnaire, which underwent content validity testing by three experts, yielding an Index of Content Validity (IOC) between 0.60 - 1.00, and reliability testing using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, resulting in a reliability coefficient of 0.910. Statistical methods used included mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The research findings revealed that 1) The study of factors influencing the decision to train in Muay Thai at Muay Thai camps in Thailand among Chinese citizens. Overall, the level of decision-making was at the highest level. 2) A comparison of factors influencing the decision of Chinese citizens to train in Muay Thai at Muay Thai camps in Thailand, categorized by gender, revealed statistically significant differences (p < .05) in two aspects: facility management, amenities, accommodation, and safety; and the management of competitions for boxers. Other aspects did not show statistically significant differences.
