THE DEVELOPMENT OF GUIDELINE TO STRENGTHEN TEACHERS’ COMPETENCY OF LEARNING MANAGEMENT IN SCHOOLS UNDER THE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 26

Abstract

          The present study aimed 1) to investigate the current situations, desired situations and needs of strengthening teachers’ competency of learning management in schools under the secondary educational service area office 26. 2) to develop the guideline to strengthen teachers’ competency of learning management. There were 2 phases; phase 1 was the study related to the current situations, desired situations and needs. The sample of the study was 323 teachers. The instrument used to collect data was the questionnaire. Phase 2 was the development of the guideline. The sample of the study related to the guideline was 9 people. The sample of evaluation the guideline was 5 people. The instruments used in the study were questionnaire and evaluation covered the possibility of the guideline. The statistics used consisted of percentage, mean and standard deviation.

          The results revealed that: 1) The results of the study related to the current situations shown that overall elements was rated in more level.  The results of the study related to desired situations indicated that overall elements was rated in the most level. The results of the study related to needs could be ordered respectively depending on the most needed as follows; using and developing teaching materials, innovation and technology, curriculum design and development, learning management focusing on student – centered, learning assessment and evaluation and learning design. 2) The guideline to strengthen teachers’ competency of learning management consists of 7 parts and 32 guidelines. The result of guideline evaluation revealed that overall elements was appropriate and possible rated in the most level.
