REFLECTIONS OF LAK PHRA WATPRATUMTAYAKARAM SICHON DISTRICT, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study reflections of society and culture through Lak Phra Watpratumtayakaram, Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. It was found that barcarole that are sung in the Chak Phra tradition of Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat use of dialects and humor to reflect the identity of people in the area. Lak Phra Song Watpratumtayakaram, Sichon district, Nakhon Si Thammarat as part of the way of life in the community, it can reflect the social and cultural reflections such as creating interaction and unity of people in the community, Southern Thai folklore Buddhist way, and the way of the culture of southern local food. In addition, barcarole also plays a role in the community according to the role theory which is the role of explaining the origin and reason for performing a ceremony, roles in education in societies that use tradition in telling, the role of maintaining the standard of behavior that is a pattern of society, and the role of maintaining the standard of behavior that is a pattern of society, and the role of giving pleasure and a solution to frustration.
