THE BUDDHIST ENTREPRENEURIAL ORIENTATION FOR BUSINESS SUCCESSFUL OWNERS OF STAND-ALONE DRUGSTORES IN BANGKOK AND PERIMETER

Abstract
The objectives of this study aim 1) to explore the level of entrepreneurial orientation and Ditthadhammikattha-samvattanika-dhamma (4 virtues conducive to benefits in the present) of stand-alone drugstore owners in Bangkok metropolitan and perimeter; 2) to investigate the relationship of entrepreneurial orientation and Ditthadhammikattha-samvattanika-dhamma of stand-alone drugstore owners in Bangkok metropolitan and perimeter to business success; 3) to synthesize the mathematics equation to predict the business success of stand-alone drugstore owners in Bangkok metropolitan and perimeter; and 4) to develop the Buddhist entrepreneurial orientation model for business successful owners of stand-alone drugstores in Bangkok metropolitan and perimeter. The study is a quantitative research in nature collecting data of a valid and reliable questionnaire from 120 samples of community pharmacists who are members of Community Pharmacy Association (Thailand) and have been continually owning stand-alone drugstores more than 5 years by a purposive sampling method and statistics including Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation (S.D.), One-way ANOVA and Linear regression is used for analyzing data.
Results of the study were as follows.
1) The Entrepreneurial orientation of stand-alone drugstore owners was in the medium level and the competitive aggressiveness orientation was quite low, the characteristic of Thithadhamikhatthasangwattanikadhama was at quite high level, the Entrepreneurial orientation had significant positive correlation with business success at medium to high level, the characteristic of Ditthadhammikattha-samvattanika-dhamma had no correlation with business success, and the characteristics of Ditthadhammikattha-samvattanika-dhamma had significant positive correlation with Entrepreneurial orientation at medium to high level. In conclusion, 1) The Entrepreneurial orientation was the mediator between the Entrepreneurial orientation and business success. 2) The result of the mathematic equation for predicting business success through 2 independent variables, namely, a risk taking orientation and competitive aggressiveness orientation and the Buddhist entrepreneurial orientation of stand-alone drugstore owners in Bangkok metropolitan and perimeter for business success was found that they had got a moral personality in association with the Thai society.
