The Effects of Pay Satisfaction on Intention to Leave of Police officer Royal Thai Police Headquarters

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) study the effects of pay satisfaction on job satisfaction, affective commitment, and the police officer’s intention to leave and (2) study the effects of job satisfaction and affective commitment on the police officer’s intention to leave. This research employed the quantitative research method. The population were 200 police officers from the Royal Thai Police Headquarters using a questionnaire as the research instrument. Data analysis was conducted by using descriptive statistics, include of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Statistics for hypothesis testing were simple regression analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results found that pay satisfaction has a positive effected on job satisfaction and affective commitment. Also, job satisfaction and affective commitment have a negative effected on the police officer’s intention to leave. On the other hand, pay satisfaction have no significant effects on turnover intention of the police officers.
