Developing the Capacity of People in the Community to Promote Sustainable Tourism Management Systems in the Local Area Surin
Abstract
Research on developing community people's potential to promote local sustainable tourism management system Surin province aimed at 1) to study the potential of tourist attractions 2) to assess and compare the potential of people in the community to promote the tourism management system and 3) to study the guidelines for the development of people's potential in the community to promote the sustainable tourism management system of the locality, Surin. This research is applied research, using quantitative research methods. Collecting data using questionnaires together with qualitative research methods. Collect data using surveys Interview form and Group discussion. The sample population is community leaders, people involved in tourism management and representatives of relevant government agencies. The research area was Ban Sanuan, Bueng Sub-district, Khwao Sinrin District, Surin.
The results of the assessment of the potential of tourist attractions Using an assessment based on the 5A concept, it was found that the community had the potential for tourism in terms of attraction and tourism activities. Basic amenities are available, but community accommodation is not available. As for the assessment of people's potential in the community for community tourism management in 7 aspects, before and after the education, it was found that before the training, the respondents had a low overall potential ( 2.42). After the training, it was found that the respondents had a high level of overall potential ( 4.16)
Guidelines for developing community people's potential to promote tourism management system local sustainability Surin Should focus on developing knowledge of creative tourism management. which is an activity suitable for tourism resources of the community. In addition, should support the development of tourist attractions tourism activities facilities and promote public relations and tourism marketing in order to be known to more tourists and building cooperation with other groups in the community and government and private agencies.
