Abstract
The research objectives were to study 1) a potential development level of sustainable community-based tourism and comparison of factors affecting to the potential development of sustainable community-based tourism, 2) tourism behavior of community-based tourism, and 3) define potential development guidelines of sustainable community-based tourism: a case study in Pho Prathap Chang sub-district, Pho Prathap Chang district, Phichit province.
Conducting this research using the method of mixed method consisting of quantitative research and qualitative research. From the sample as follows: 1) Tourists who travel to the tourism industry by the community of Pho Prathap Chang sub-district, Pho Prathap Chang district, Phichit Province consisting of 407 people by collecting data using questionnaires. 2) Head of government agencies or officials of government agencies related to tourism in Pho Prathap Chang sub-district, Pho Prathap Chang District, Phichit Province by in-depth interviews with 10 people. 3) Entrepreneurs in Pho Prathap Chang sub-district, Pho Prathap district, Phichit Province by In-depth interviews of 5 people and 1 group conversation of 5 people. and 4) People in Pho Prathap Chang sub-district, Pho Prathap Chang district, Phichit province, consisting of 20 people, divided into data collection by focus-group, consisting of 2 groups, 10 persons each.
The result of this study about the level of the potential development of sustainable community-based tourism was at a high level. Overview affecting to community-based tourism who had in age, highest education, job position, employment status, current occupation, and monthly income found that a result of differences was statistical significance level of 0.05 However, Classified by gender, marital status, and current domicile, found that a result of differences was not statistically significant at the 0.05 level. Creating a selling point from the uniqueness and identity of the community, product and service development according to tourists' needs, effective marketing management, and sustainable conservation of natural resources and the environment were potential development patterns and guidelines of sustainable community-based tourism.
