The Role of The Local Municipality in Promoting the Lifestyle Based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in the Community of the Municipality in Plabplachai District, Buriram Province

Abstract

          The results of this research were revealed as follows: 1) to study the role of the local municipality in promoting the lifestyle based on the sufficiency economy philosophy in the community of the local municipality in Plabplachai district, Buriram province; 2) to compare the opinions of the people on the role of the local municipality in promoting the lifestyle based on the sufficiency economy philosophy in the community of the local municipality in Plabplachai district, Buriram province, 3) to propose guidelines for the development of the role of the local municipality in promoting the lifestyle based on the sufficiency economy philosophy in the local municipality In Plabplachai district, Buriram This was integrated by quantitative and qualitative research. Population means people are living in Plabplachai district, Buriram province; there were 391 people. were collected by the quantitative research, while in-depth interview was used through qualitative research by 20 cases.

           The results of this research were revealed as follows:

1. the role of the local municipality in promoting the lifestyle based on the sufficiency economy philosophy in the local municipality of Plabplachai district, Buriram province was at a medium level. When considering in each aspect, it was found that people in the opinions of the role of the local municipality in promoting the lifestyle based on the sufficiency economy philosophy in the community; the morality aspect was the highest level; followed by rationality aspect, Knowledge aspect, and modesty aspect respectively. The immunity aspect was at a medium level.


2. people’s opinions on the role of the local municipality in promoting the lifestyle based on the sufficiency economy philosophy in the local community in Plapphlachai district, Buriram it was found that all 5 aspects that overall people had different sexes, different ages, different education, different occupations and different monthly incomes were not different with statistical significance at the level of 0.05. Hypothesis, therefore, was rejected.


3. Guidelines for the development of the role of the local municipality in promoting the lifestyle based on the sufficiency economy philosophy in the community of Plapphlachai district, Buriram province, it was found as follows: The modesty aspect - knowledge should be provided to the leaders in various communities, such as training or inviting speakers to give knowledge about the occupation of the philosophy of sufficiency economy. The new theory of agriculture should be used as a guideline for growing vegetables, gardening and raising animals for household consumption. The rationality aspect - The way of living based on the sufficiency economy philosophy should be applied to suit the community area. There should be training by inviting speakers from various departments to give knowledge and implement it in concrete terms through the philosophy of sufficiency economy to be supplementary careers which could be used materials in the area suitable for each community area. The immunity aspect – it should be provided knowledge to various groups of leaders by taking them to study, observe or train living the principles. household expenses should reduced be and extra income should be advised by finding community enterprise resources. The knowledge aspect - the King's Philosophy should be used as the basis for daily life of the community. There should be a learning center for living based on the sufficiency economy philosophy through speakers from government agencies and from private demonstrations and practices to be completed. The morality aspect - there should be activities to instill children and youth to have morality and ethics such as Sunday temple activities to practice morality. It, therefore, should be promoted the issue of raising awareness in helping others or loving and cherishing in the community as well.
