Guidelines for Cultural tourism Management at Ban Wan, Sisaket province

Abstract

         This research aims to study the management approach to cultural tourism of Ban Wan. Amphoe Mueang Sisaket, which is a very old area in Sisaket Province, thus making it historicolly and culturally significant. The community’s rich background and resources are useful to manage cultural tourism and to continue eco-tourism in the neighborhood. To make it stable and appropriate as a qualilative research the following actions will be undertaken : data collection, field work observation, group disscoussion and document study : the results revealed that tourism management of Ban Wan was started in 2015 by emphasizing on religious tourism. The outstanding thing of Ban Wan was Wat Phrathat Suphannahong Temple that was the community center. In addition, the way of life and culture of Thai-Lao Ethnic Group was also included with community’s tourism. However, there was the lack of knowledge on local history, culture, and local wisdom of the community.    Since it was the old community, there were some cultural resources that could be developed to cultural tourism based on existing religious tourism in order to understanding the community with pride to maintain culture that was the identity of the community appropriately and sustainably Studies Should be conducted regarding history, area development and cultural resources. Such tangible and intangible resources should be managed appropriately supporting the maintenance and restoration of the community culture. Moreover, the Community should be developed by providing infrastructures in a suitable way like information and service center, historial signs and road signs. These will support marketing and public relations in cluding partiapation in unique  tourism management and will lead to public awareness among locals and outsiders alike. this will lead to understanding and pride that will strengthen and secure Ban Wan’s tourism.
