The Appropriate Roles of Sub-district Headmen and Village Headmen in Promoting Democracy in the Community, Muang, Surin Province

Abstract

         This research aims to study the appropriate roles of sub-district headmen and village headmen in promotion of democracy in Muang, Surin Province. This research used a quantitative research that was collected from 168 samples of the people in Muang, Surin Province with multi-stage random sampling method. A questionnaire was prepared as a tool to collect data. The data was analyzed by percentage, average, standard deviation. The results showed that the sub-district headmen and village headmen has the appropriate roles in the promotion of democracy in Muang Surin Province. Overall, the average value is high. Considering each aspect, it was found that on average, with most is the Brotherhood, followed by the Equality, The principle secures majority, The main reasons, respectively, and the average minimum is the main rights and freedoms. Each aspect has a high average level.
