A study on Song era’s Deng Yun inscription rhyme table reading methodology

Abstract
This article focuses on the reading methodology used in reading Deng Yun rhyme tables, which represent the sound system of Middle Chinese during the Sui-Song Dynasty era. Rhyme table study is the study of the combination of consonants and rhyme in Ancient Chinese phonology’s rule. This article introduces basic knowledge of Ancient Chinese phonology and the methodology for reading rhyme tables and the definitions of some technical words in Chinese phonology. Rhyme table study can be applied in Chinese philology and many other related areas
