บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทำความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับสำนึกชาตินิยมทางไกล (Long Distance Nationalism) ในชุมชนเกี่ยวบ่าวนครพนมที่เกิดขึ้นจากการสร้างลัทธิบูชาบุคคล (Cult of Personality) ด้วยประเพณีประดิษฐ์ (Invented Tradition) โดยการปรับเปลี่ยนประเพณีการบูชาบรรพบุรุษให้กลายเป็นการบูชาผู้นำของชาติด้วยการสร้างพื้นที่แห่งความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ในลักษณะของแท่นบูชาปิตุภูมิ (Fatherland Altar-Bàn thờ tổ quốc) ที่ถูกจัดตั้งขึ้นในบ้านเรือนของเกี่ยวบ่าวนครพนม รวมถึงพื้นที่อื่น ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง ได้แก่ อุดรธานี และ มุกดาหาร นับตั้งแต่ช่วงปลายทศวรรษ 1940 จนถึงปี 1975 ลัทธิบูชาบุคคลที่เกิดขึ้นถือว่าเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญอย่างหนึ่งที่ส่งผลให้เกี่ยวบ่าวนครพนมเกิดความเคารพนับถือในตัวผู้นำสูงสุดคนเดียวกัน และการจินตกรรมถึงความเป็นชาติในลักษณะเดียวกันชาวเวียดนามที่อาศัยอยู่ภายในแผ่นดินปิตุภูมิ
